Painting "Welcome Home" - July 2024

This painting holds a special place in my heart. Over the course of June, I must have painted it about 20 times, each time tweaking and refining my technique to ensure I could teach it effectively. My workshops are just two hours long, so I had to figure out how to time each element to dry perfectly, avoiding unwanted smudges and bleeds. The bougainvillea effect was particularly tricky—I tried various methods and finally, in a moment of desperation, sprinkled some salt on it. To my delight, it worked!

Hosting this workshop at five retirement villages and two sold-out public events this month was an incredible experience. Seventy-one wonderful people joined me, sharing laughs and the joy of painting together. Each interaction was a privilege, and these moments of connection are the essence of my passion for teaching in retirement villages.

I'm dedicated to expanding my reach to more retirement villages, especially in the Moreton Bay area. If you know of any interested groups, please let me know—I absolutely love painting with people and sharing this creative journey.

For my workshops, I bring all the necessary supplies. Retirement villages just need to provide the venue, and for public events, I take care of hiring the space.

Services I Offer:

  1. Retirement Village Group Classes

  2. Public Watercolour Workshops

  3. Small Group Team Building (max 20 people)

  4. Friendship Groups/Birthday Parties (max 20 people, your venue)

I’m also working towards offering watercolor lessons as an unregistered NDIS provider. I'm currently getting my business on the database and completing my yellow card application. Additionally, I'm considering offering one-on-one lessons for those in retirement villages who want to learn more complex techniques.

What's Coming in August:

We'll be painting beautiful greeting cards! We'll start with a thank you card featuring a Protea (or Get Well Soon), then move on to a birthday card with a cake, and finally, a card of your choice. Each participant will receive three cards to paint.

Remember, I upload a YouTube tutorial each week and provide free outlines on my website. I also post my daily paintings on Instagram and Facebook. I hope these resources inspire and encourage you on your painting journey.

Thank you for all the love and support!
