Tip Toe through the Tulips - May 2024

May was a whirlwind of colour and creativity at our Tulip Watercolour Workshops! I had the privilege of meeting so many incredible individuals and reconnecting with familiar faces at various retirement villages where I've held previous workshops. It was a heart-warming and inspiring month.

The tulip painting session was a unique challenge for many participants. Without predefined outlines, everyone had to draw their own vase and choose their own colours. This approach encouraged personal expression, resulting in some of the most stunning and unique artworks I've ever seen. I'm immensely proud of everyone who attended. Facing the challenge head-on, each person embraced the opportunity to learn something new and push their creative boundaries.

Watercolour is notoriously difficult to master. Our natural inclination is to control every aspect and strive for perfection, but watercolour demands a different approach. It requires us to relinquish control, let the water and pigments flow freely, and trust the process. Many participants found this aspect particularly challenging, but it also led to beautiful surprises and artistic breakthroughs.

Throughout the workshops, we laughed, we learned, and we grew together. It was a journey of creative exploration and self-discovery. Watching everyone overcome their fears and produce such remarkable pieces was truly inspiring.

Thank you to all who participated for your enthusiasm and courage. May was indeed a month to remember, filled with vibrant tulips and the joy of shared artistic adventures. Here's to many more workshops and the wonderful creations yet to come!
